Putting Your Values on PaperTM:The Ethical Will Writing Guide Valueware Software

Instructions for downloading The Ethical Will Writing Guide Valueware Software

Copy this page for easy reference for downloading and opening the Zip File that contains all the files that run the program. A zip file compresses information so that it can be transferred over the Internet as one file.

If you are unsure how to download or unzip a zip file, you can request help by sending an e-mail to info@ethicalwill.com. Or you can call 612-374-9526 and ask for Barry.

A CD-ROM can be purchased for $10.00 through PayPal:

or by check sent to:

Josaba Ltd.

If you are familiar with zip files, proceed directly to the download box below.

For detailed information about how to download the program, please read the following:

When you click on the grey box below, a dialogue box will appear. Select the "save file to disk" button.  Then click "OK".

Another box will ask the location of where you want to save the file. If you don't specify a file, it will automatically save this 'zip file' in the 'Temp' folder which is located in your  C: directory in the "Windows" folder.

Click on the 'Save' button and the downloading process will begin automatically. Depending on your modem speed and internet service provider, it will take between 5 and 25 minutes for the entire file to be downloaded.

Once the 'zip file' is downloaded, either close this window or log off the internet to return to your desktop.

You need to 'unzip' the file so you can load the program on your computer.  To 'unzip' the file, double-click on 'My Computer' at the top left of your desktop screen, then double-click on the [C:]. A new window will open. Locate the 'Windows' folder and open it by double-clicking on it. Then click on "show files" and locate the 'Temp' folder (NOT Temporary Internet Files).

Double-click on the 'Temp' folder and locate the file that's titled 'EW_Value.zip'. Double-click on this file and that will start the 'unzipping' process (this assumes you have the 'Winzip' program or another 'ZIP utility program. You can download an evaluation version by going to www.winzip.com).

For Winzip, a dialogue box will appear that has a number of buttons in a row across the top. Click on the button that says 'Extract'. If you are seeing a different dialogue box, you are probably in "wizard" mode. Just click on the 'Winzip Classic' box in the lower left hand corner.

When you click on the Extract button, the 'extract' dialogue box will appear and ask where you want to extract these files to. You can extract them to this same temporary folder the 'zip file' is in ( C:\Windows\Temp). Click on extract. That's it.

To install (or run) the program, go to the 'Temp' folder, and double-click on the file that's named 'setup.exe', or double-click on the 'install.txt' file for additional information. The instruction screens will lead you through the installation for the trial program.

You can open the program right from the last screen on the installation, or if you want to run the program later, click on the start button menu in the lower left corner of your desktop screen, move the mouse to programs and then locate the icon labeled 'ethical will family' and click on the program.

When the program opens a screen will appear to provide you with some information about Valueware and ethical wills. To go to the program screen, close the page by clicking on the 'X' at the top-right of the screen. Use the 'Help" menu if you need more information about the program.

Good luck, and thank you for downloading the Ethical Will Writing Guide Valueware.  Contact us for questions or comments at info@ethicalwill.com
